As we witnessed through the recent global financial and economic crisis, the global economic environment today is changing even faster, heightening future uncertainties.  In this regard, IGE can continue to play its critical role in helping Korean policymakers and business strategists adapt to the changing environment.

I was on leave from IGE to serve the Korean government as Chairman of the National Competitiveness Council as well as Chairman of the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit and as the President’s Special Economic Adviser. Since that time, IGE has been under the leadership of Dr. Chong-Hyun Nam. However, now that my service to the Korean government has come to an end, I am pleased to serve as Chairman of IGE again and to indirectly support Dr. Nam’s leadership.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere appreciation to those who have given generous support and assistance to IGE’s endeavors.
